AP Chemistry – Class 34

Dates

• Periods E/ F – Thursday, November 8th

Class Work

• During class each student should complete the worksheet handouts from yesterday’s class.
• NOTE: extra copies of the three handouts found in the “Lecture and Content” folder of the course’s Google Docs page (thermo-ws1, thermo-ws2, thermo-ws3)
• Be sure and show work for all problems, including the multiple-choice problems
• NOTE: I will collect the work next class period
• NOTE: students do not need to turn them in by the end of class
• When finished, review the three Khan Academy videos for the next class (see below)
• NOTE: “Internal Energy” in the videos is represented as “U” and not “E” – blame the physicists for being weird about this one (“U” and “E” are exactly the same concept and behave the same way)

• On this page of the course blog are all of the Khan Academy videos that relate to this course
• You are encouraged to use these throughout the year for additional support, as you don’t need my permission to add depth to your chemistry knowledge.
• The three videos to review for class are: Heat of Formation, Hess’s Law Example, Hess’s Law and Reaction Enthalpy Change
• Be ready to work on problems during the next class after a brief recap of the videos.

Homework

• Finish reviewing Khan Academy videos
• Turn in work next class, not by the end of class.
