Lab Day – Let’s Get This Party Started!

• Dilutions  = mL Stock / mL Water (10/0, 9/1, 8/2, 7/3, 6/4, 5/5, 4/6, 3/7, 2/8, 1/9)
• Blue Wavelength = 630 nm
• Stock solution = 6.372 x 10^-6 M (also known as 6.372 micro molar)
• Note – Variance of absorbance with different tubes
• Note – Rinsing process = multistep
• Two unknowns (two types of Gatorade)
• Use pipette to deliver volumes (demonstration LINK)
• Spect 20 Tutorial (Part 1 / Part 2)

Processing Data

• Microsoft Excel: know it, live it, love it (one of many tutorials)
• Enter all raw data on shared spreadsheet (LINK)

Homework

• make sure you are up to date with the lab and what you need to do to process the data once you obtain it
• reviewing Microsoft Excel would be a good idea
• plot data – find trend
